I love the colours in this piece; the subtle blue spots in the dimple under her nose, in the curve of her chin, cheeks, forehead and small bags beneath her eyes. Which I myself never found to be an unattractive feature, also attributing to the atmosphere of her edge,her pixie cut, upturned coat collar, and sharp perfectly shaded polish cheekbones. All of course centred coldly at the blue of her eyes, though they do have a glassy quality. Your technique as always is one I haven't seen extensively and of course love to explore, the circles particularly( when I was taught to shade, blending was emphasized. And incredibly emotive, I feel as if I know the subject, like I've seen her smoking somewhere, which of course is impossible.

I love the flow in the spheres and ovals and squiggly lines that make up the shading for the face and neck, it also has really good execution in detail. I love it!
